Home insurance: Protecting your property, and your lifestyle
It's more than just a house. It's a home. And just like your home, your
insurance should be unique and customized to fit your needs. Get to know
what comes standard and — just as important — which extra protection
coverage types are right for you.
Home insurance options to help you customize
Certain coverages - including Liability, Physical structures, Personal property coverage, and Additional Living Expenses — come standard. But we know that each homeowner is unique, and offer up a number of add-on home insurance coverages to help customize the right homeowners insurance policy for you.
Water Backup & Sump Pump Overflow Coverage
This covers your home and belongings if they incur water damage from sewer and drain backups, or a mechanical failure of your sump pump.1
Umbrella Coverage
This insurance gives you an extra layer of personal liability protection so you're covered in case of a major, costly claim.
Coverage for Scheduled Items
Add coverage to protect specific "scheduled" items. These are belongings that may require and warrant additional coverage, since the standard home policy limits the amount you can claim per item.
What's not included with Homeowners Insurance
It all depends on your policy and which state you live in. However, some events
(detailed below) are generally not covered by the standard home insurance policy.
Flood Insurance
A homeowners policy does not protect against loss or damage from a flood. Learn more about Flood Insurance.
Earthquake damage
Damage from an earthquake is not covered by hour homeowners policy.
Sewer backup
While a sewer backup is not covered by your homeowners policy, we can help prepare you for water.
Home wear and tear
Standard home wear and tear is not covered by home insurance.
Optional coverage. Not available in all states, and may vary by state.
